Edie Parsons wandered through her childhood in a complete daze, her nose buried deep in books, daydreams, and stories. She still does. Edie is a huge fan of middle grade fantasy. It’s what she reads, and what she writes. The thing that most attracts her to middle grade fiction is that it celebrates young people discovering who they are and what they’re capable of. The fantasy element allows those explorations to expand into richly imaginative settings, situations, and experiences not possible in the real world. A member of SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) since 2005, Edie has written several as-yet unpublished middle grade science fiction and fantasy novels. She has spoken at conferences on middle grade fantasy, its sub-genres, and what it brings to young readers. Edie currently lives in Athens, GA, where she is fortunate to be surrounded by a vibrant community of writers.
